Rokot, a light launcher built from Soviet UR-100N missiles with a restartable upper stage, flown from Plesetsk in northern Russia.
Rokot used the first two stages of the UR-100N, a Soviet intercontinental missile, with a Breeze-KM upper stage that could restart in space to drop satellites off in different orbits. It launched from Plesetsk, in Russia’s far north, carrying small satellites, including Europe’s GOCE gravity mapper and Sentinel Earth-observation satellites, until its last flight in 2019.
