Skrabek Print co. (“we”, “us”) runs skrabek.com from Chestermere, Alberta, Canada. This policy explains what we collect when you visit or order, why, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do with it. Questions go to hello@skrabek.com.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, email, shipping and billing address, phone number if you give one, and what you bought. We need these to make, ship and support your order.
- Payment: card and wallet payments are handled by our payment providers (WooPayments by Stripe, PayPal, Affirm and Afterpay). We never see or store your full card number.
- If you join our newsletter: your email address, when you signed up and confirmed, and whether you open our emails. You can sign up in the footer or at checkout.
- If you create an account: your login details and order history.
- When you write to us or leave a comment or review: what you send and the email you send it from. Comments are checked for spam by Akismet.
- Print guide questions: what you type into the print guide is recorded so we can make its answers better. It isn’t linked to your name or account, so please don’t type personal details into it.
How we measure the site
We count visits and shop activity using our own cookie-free analytics, hosted on Cloudflare. It records which pages are viewed, searches, items added to the cart and orders placed, along with your country and type of device. It never records who you are: no names, emails, addresses or IP addresses. A random number ties one visit’s pages together and is forgotten when you close the tab. Cloudflare Web Analytics also counts visits and page speed without cookies.
Cookies
The only cookies are the ones the shop needs: to keep your cart and login working, and for our payment providers to prevent fraud. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your information. We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- Gelato, our print partner, and its delivery carriers receive your name, shipping address, email and phone so they can print and deliver your order.
- Payment providers (Stripe, PayPal, Affirm, Afterpay) receive what’s needed to take payment.
- Service providers that run the site: Bluehost (hosting), Cloudflare (analytics), and Automattic (WooCommerce, MailPoet for the newsletter, Jetpack security and backups, and tax calculation).
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
Some of these companies store information outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union, where local laws may allow authorities to access it.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for six years, as Canadian tax law requires. Account details are kept until you ask us to close your account. Analytics records can’t identify you and are kept to see how the shop changes over time.
Emails
We email you about your order. We send our newsletter, with new prints and sales, only if you sign up and confirm your address, and every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe link. Newsletter sign-ups are kept in MailPoet, on our own site.
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted (except what we must keep for tax records). Write to hello@skrabek.com and we’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
