Gator Concrete

Branding:

Originally, Gator Concrete’s logo featured a green cartoon gator smashing through concrete walls and giving a thumbs-up. Even though the logo was memorable, it was not the logo of a world leader in industrial concrete. In a nod to the past, I retained the ‘Gator’ wordmark, gave it a tougher exterior. The visual brand was based around the natural shapes and edges of an ‘Alligator’. Sharp angled lines, inspired by the scales on an Alligator’s back, extend outwards into the brand demonstrating the high-quality product Gator provides to its clients. A dark colour palette enhances the idea of ‘cutting edge’, and gives the brand a fresh, modern feel.

Considering the costs of a brand redesign and website, we decided the most cost-effective solution for Gator was a brochure-style website. In lieu of extensive UX and user research, I leveraged years of experience in designing websites for similar clients. Utilizing both practical and learned techniques to design a functional website that met their objectives of establishing an online presence.
